When Bill Cantos sings “Morning Coffee” I’m awake!
Right from the running start of the base line intro, this
performance is a full-strength brew. The piano and voice percolate a pick-me-up
that has me wired from beginning to end.
I smile with this song because Cantos’ sound is all kinds of
energetic happiness. And, the other musicians are right there with him making
it impossible to stay still. First my right foot is moving in time, and then my
left foot refuses to be left behind. My head starts bopping and my fingers are
snapping—no jitters; just a great “Morning Coffee” buzz that I always want to
savor.
The lyrics are delivered so clear and bright throughout and near
the end Bill builds a bit of scat singing to sound as enticing as a coffee
machine’s crescendo. This is no decaffeinated offering, oh no, this is good-to-the-last-note, high-octane music.
I’m ready for a second cup.
I’m ready for a second cup.
This is where it’s cooking. Let me know how you’re feeling after you have a taste
for yourself.
Thanks, Diane!
